From Oct. 8-10, 2025, the Rimini Expo Centre will host the TTG Travel Experience, Italy’s leading international tourism promotion event. The event brings together industry operators, tour operators, travel agents, airlines, tourism boards, accommodation facilities and providers of services and technological solutions, presenting an opportunity to discuss emerging cultural trends and experiences. In this setting, the magazine Finestre Sull’Arte is participating with a project that links cultural promotion and reflection on contemporary art. The Renaissance work, known for its allegorical refinement and harmonic composition, is transformed into a kawaii kaleidoscope, where the main figures, Venus, the Graces, Flora, Zephyrus and Chloris, retain their original arrangement, but lose the individuality of their faces, reduced to neutral masks. The clothes and the entire scenery are filled with decorative patterns and bright colors, giving the figures a stylized and uniform appearance, symbolic of a globalized society that tends to flatten individual differences. In the scene, nature is combined with unexpected elements of contemporary culture: among flowering branches, Alitalia planes, Hello Kitty mascots and colorful animals emerge, invading and overlapping the original delicacy of the painting. Among flowers and leaves, small volumes of the magazine Finestre Sull’Arte are hidden like discreet signals for the viewer, inviting them to discover details and reflect on the link between traditional and contemporary culture. The magazine, which has been present at TTG in Rimini for many years, thus proposes a path that combines artistic popularization with the enhancement of cultural heritage, thus stimulating an active and conscious enjoyment of the public.
Nagao’s reinterpretation transforms the classical myth into a playful and alienating universe, where the beauty of nature becomes a backdrop for a colorful, lively celebration imbued with ironic melancholy. Spring is presented as a symbol of the present: art and beauty are transformed into decorated and consumable surfaces, while the myth is reinterpreted in the light of mass culture. The choice of decorative patterns, pop symbols, and editorial references creates a dialogue between eras, cultures, and visual languages, emphasizing the critical role of art in the contemporary world. Therefore, the work is not limited to an aesthetic intervention: rather, it proposes a reflection on the value and perception of culture, highlighting how art can be reinterpreted in different ways, balancing respect for the original and actualization of themes. The fusion of classical references and contemporary elements generates a layered reading, in which Botticelli’s Primavera becomes a tool for observing today’s society and the relationship between aesthetics, cultural consumption and globalization.
Finestre sull’Arte ’s initiative at TTG Rimini 2025 confirms the importance of bringing artistic heritage into international exhibition contexts, promoting a link between cultural tourism, popularization and artistic experimentation.
