MUVE Academy, Fondazione Musei Civici Venezia's rich program of courses and workshops, is born

The Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia presents MUVE Academy, a project that aims to be innovative by proposing an educational offer linked to the heritage of the Venetian Civic Museums and the creation of a network of relationships with institutions, research organizations and universities. The goal is to develop joint projects for research, training, innovation and dissemination of knowledge related to the historical-artistic culture of Venice.

Starting in September, training courses will kick off, beginning with the “Murano Glass classes,” created through the collaboration between MUVE Academy and the Abate Zanetti Institute of Murano. Three basic level courses focused on the different creative techniques of glass working, where blown glass working, casting and glass fusing techniques, and lampworking will be taught respectively.

Two training courses entitled “Recognizing Textiles from Life and in Portraits, Three Days to Deepen Knowledge of Textile Materials” and “Making Interculture with Heritage Education. Learning Community Practice Workshop,” curated by Muve Education. In November, the already sold-out course of “East-West Calligraphy. Calligraphy Review between East and West,” a masterclass dedicated to handwriting as part of the calligraphy review curated by the Correr Museum Library.

MUVE Academy’s educational offerings are aimed primarily at those who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in the fields of history, art, museums and management. It consists of part-time courses, workshops, lectures, practical laboratories and Master’s degrees designed for young professionals, students and lovers of culture and art, taught by internationally renowned lecturers and experts in the field.

The courses focus on topics such as the conservation of cultural heritage, art history, museum management and the dissemination of Venice’s historical-artistic heritage, along with the safeguarding, conservation and innovation of cultural heritage and the craftsmanship know-how that distinguishes Made in Italy. The aim of the project is also to enhance the museum’s activities and collections by emphasizing its active role in being a place of encounter and exchange between different cultures and disciplines, contributing to the creation and dissemination of culture in an innovative and original way.
