Rome, the Borghese Gallery gets a restaurant: it's called Molto Ristorante

"Molto," a new museum restaurant, opens at the Borghese Gallery in Rome: it is entrusted to the Roman brand "Molto Italiano."

Rome ’s Galleria Borghese is getting a restaurant: Molto Ristorante, the new food and cafeteria service entrusted to the well-established Rome-based restaurant brand “Molto Italiano,” opens to the public. After the extensive work campaign involving the Roman museum’s spaces, which began in February 2020, the bar-bistro service has been entrusted to the gastronomic format “Molto,” which in the capital is a popular reference point for lovers of the sector. From breakfast to snacks to aperitifs, Molto at the Borghese Gallery will operate from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and in the evenings during the periods when the museum remains open.

The menu designed for the Galleria is aimed at an Italian and international clientele, and each proposal stems from the constant search for new combinations, always inspired by freshness and seasonality. The restaurant promises high-quality products selected according to PDO and PGI marks. Most of the vegetables come from its own vegetable garden, located in the Lazio countryside, to ensure an ethical and sustainable supply chain with Km0 products. Key point of the gastronomic offer is the variety of the proposal, which changes every month and starts from breakfast that presents a selection of leavened products such as brioche and muffins up to the biscuits part to be accompanied by tea, herbal teas and the items of the cafeteria, while the savory offer is characterized by focacce, maritozzi, butter croissants to be stuffed with cold cuts, cheeses or vegetables.

The lunch formula, on the other hand, is marked by appetizers, first courses, main courses and desserts: from the Tartare of Fassona beef, to the Veal meatballs alla cacciatora with olives and capers, then Fregola in veg version, Gnocchetti alla Sorrentina, Saffron jumping rice, tomato “Gerardo di Nola” and Cabras roe of Fratelli Spanu, but also Club Sandwich of roastbeef, as for desserts you can already inaugurate the season of strawberries with cream topping. Just to mention a few proposals that will vary weekly and according to the season. Thus, for each item you will find four references, among which there is always a special first of the day, alternatively you can opt for a fresh and simple salad. Also personalizing the menu is the “house” wine, “Molto Rosso” Pinot Nero dell’Oltrepò Pavese, made in collaboration with the Conte Vistarino winery.

Visitors can then also organize a private picnic immersed in the park of Villa Borghese, to enjoy a meal in the green with Molto’s take-away BOXES, whose packaging is carefully designed with ecological and biodegradable materials. Available from May. Molto at the Borghese Gallery aims to present itself as a particularly well-detailed environment, created in collaboration with SchönhuberFranchi, a Bolzano-based company and a leader in furniture-contract and table decoration for the high-end hotel and restaurant industry. You can reserve a table by calling 0696006005 or emailing prenotazionemoltoborghese@moltoitaliano.it.

Molto is the brainchild of Lorenzo Bassetti, founder of Molto Italiano, a collector and art and design enthusiast. It is a GALLERY of design objects, belonging to the highest Italian artisanal tradition, carefully selected: very particular objects, often vintage, unique specimens, sometimes produced in limited edition by trusted artisans. Born as a challenge on Instagram, the initiative was successful and gained the trust of many. Today it is a way to give luster, again and again, to Made in Italy; a way to reveal the magic of the historic workshops of small artisans scattered throughout Italy, sometimes still little known.
